We have been fishing in Scotland now for 15 years and mainly on the mighty DEE. In February 07, while we fished the opening on the Lower Crathes / West Durris beats on DEE, we where invitated by MR. This figures is only for the early spring runners or from January to March. very promising for the Kinnaber spring fishers. View to the upper part of the Kinnaber beat , excellant fly water that Martin has improved for the river and the taking spots enormously for the last few years. The beat is 1 mile long but very productive , Martin is the owner of both banks of the beat so it is let out exclusevely to anglers both banks which makes it very comfortable to have the river for your self..
Together with Kinnaber Martin also owns another beat on the South Esk , the Fort Esk , when you book the Kinnaber beat you will have the exclusive access to the Fort Esk beat as well for your party, so there will be comfortable space for all the rods. Kinnaber is very productive beat , the last 3 year average catch is 314 salmon and grilse. This catch is to the 2 to 4 rods fishing daily..

Message From Murray..Hi Arni, Kinnaber is the best, I have had my biggest from there 30.5lbs, Oct28th 2001 the biggest from the beat in 44 years. 3 years ago Robert skelly and I had 2 big fish. The same day long tailed licers, size 24lbs, took a size 14 fly, Robert was 27lbs also licer, last May 1st I took a 21lbs springer at the top of the Flats..
Season at Kinnaber North Esk runs from 1st of Feruary until end of October. Old pictures from the two bridges at the bottom of the river , the Rail Way bridge and the main road bridge over North Esk..
Martin Stansfeld is planning to built a very nice fishing lodge on his beat to be ready for season 2008 , comfortable house right on the river bank with large window view over the best pools on the river. Lodge will be with 4 spacious bedrooms, kitchen , sitting room, dining room and large veranda around it. Will be great to be on the watch in the dining room in the evening and see when the runs are coming in on the tide..
The beat is 1 mile long, but 11 productive named pools on the beat. These pocket waters looks great for floating line and riffling hitch..
Owner Martin Stansfeld have been working a lot on the beat in order to hold the salmon in the pools , putting rocks in and improving the river banks , I must say it looks great , Martin have obviously been taking great care of the beat and every meter of the river is taking care of , in fact this 1 mile of fishing looks like one long fishing spot with many hot spots..
