Speypages Ponoi Spey Week 2008
Speypages Ponoi Spey Week 2008

In our continuing quest to bring you the finest in world-class casting instruction combined with truly memorable angling adventures, Speypages is proud to announce that we've teamed up with Lax-á Angling Club to offer you a unique trip-of-a-lifetime opportunity next summer! Join me on the world-renowned Ponoi River on Russia's Kola Peninsula July 5th - 12th 2008 for a week of personalized Speycasting instruction and unforgettable Atlantic salmon fishing! We'll travel from Murmansk to the famed Acha Camp on the Ponoi, where we'll spend a week pursuing Russia's noble salmon with Lax-a's Russian Operations Officer Steffen Juhl.
With over 13 years experience on the Kola Peninsula--most of those years managing salmon fishing operations--Steffen knows a thing or two about salmon and salmon anglers, so we are in for a real treat! The Speypages/Lax-a Ponoi Spey Week program runs Saturday to Saturday. Guests will arrive in Helsinki, Finland Friday evening and overnight there, then take a charter flight from Helsinki to Murmansk Saturday morning July 5th. From Murmansk we fly @ 2-1/2 hrs by helicopter into the Acha Camp on the Ponoi. We fish 6 full days (Sunday – Friday) then depart for Murmansk via helicopter the following Saturday morning July 12th. What's the fishing like? In a word--Ponoi! 2006 season catch statistics at Acha camp average 40 - 45 salmon per rod for the weeks mid June through mid July. Of course, this is salmon fishing and one can never know with certainty until lines are wet and waters tested, but under the expert guidance of Steffen and his staff we will have the best opportunity for sport.

Please note: Our Speypages Spey Weeks are growing in popularity and sell out quickly (our Skeena Spey Week 2007 sold out in less than two weeks; all spots in our 2008 Skeena trip were spoken for in less than 24 hours). The Ponoi Spey Week 2008 will be limited to 10 rods, so don't delay! Cost is 4800 Euros from Murmansk. Contact me at dana@ speypages.com for more information or to reserve your spot!
