Serge Dompierre is fishing Rio Grande now .... Just caught a nice 9 kilos but then cruising back the rio went under in a deep hole swin a little bit now home to dry my clothes Still cold and now raining. Picture is of the 9 kilos of this morning before i went for a swin ! Water higher then the last 2 years and already a good number of fish in the river. It looks like 2009 will be a very good year with fish up river for the level of water. Tight lines and hoping to stay dry this afternoon! From the East coast of the USA it is an easy connection to Helsinki, Finland.  From Finland we arrange a jet charter direct to Murmansk and from here we have direct helicopter access to the renown Ponoi River. And there is little arguing that the Ponoi boasts one of the highest numbers of rod caught salmon in the world today. Each Saturday anglers are met upon their arrival at the Murmansk Airport and around noon board a Helicopter for a flight over the great Russian wilderness to the Ponoi. Good morning from Villa Maria ! Arrive here yesterday and went fishing in the afternoon . Very cold and very very windy . Never seen it like that before . Water bit high but good , several fish in already in the river , caugh 2 , 3 and 5 kilos . Will do it again today hoping the wind will not be so strong .More news tomorrow. Best Serge

The Zihuatanejo area is finally coming alive with terrific inshore and offshore action that seemed to start with the waning full moon phase. Starting late last week, according to Captain Temo Verboonen, skipper of the "Secuestro De Amor", the sailfish were moving long distances in a single day, showing really well for just a day and then completely moving to another area by the next day. Shooting at sea has been a traditional way of gathering food in Iceland. However, interest in this branch of shooting has been growing especially amongst those clients who have an interest in taxidermy and collecting bird trophies. These sea birds are also quite delicious to dine, witch makes sea bird shooting really worthwhile. The season began with extraordinary environmental conditions; the river is high
and the water is clear and clean. Furthermore, the days are sunny and it’s hot,

Vídidalsá is one of Iceland's classic river with perfect fly water and a reputation for producing exeptionally large Salmon. It is located 230 km North of Reykjavík. In 2008 season, this 8 rod river gave over 1.400 salmon and a lot of it was 2sw salmon.

The rivers Rio Grande and Rio Gallegos have nourished and hosted the sea trout in the south for almost a century. The existence of these BIG, strong and fun fighting sea trout we owe to two gentlemen John Goodall and Jose Menedez back in 1935. They received 100.000 salmo trutta eggs which had been packed in milk cans, water, moss and sent from a seaport in Chile after arrival from Europe. Despite the difficult journey 60.000 eggs survived and were carefully stocked into two tiny tributaries of the Rio Grande river.
