So many rivers, what to choose?

The “sisters” East and West Rangá rivers are best know for the big quantity of salmon they give every year. The rivers are located in about 1 hours drive from Reykjavik. There are very nice full service lodges by each river and every rod has a room with private facilities, good meals, breakfast, lunch and dinner. The Rangá rivers are mainly fished with a double handed rod.
Vididalsá is a beautiful, crystal clear river located in North West Iceland in about 2 and half hours drive from Reykjavik. Vididalsá is fished by 8 rods and comes with a full service lodge, one room to every rod. Vididalsá offers the fishing that Iceland is best known for; small delicate, single handed rod river with relatively large salmon.

Blanda river has 4 different sections. Majority of salmon is caught on the 4 rod beat 1. With it's comfortable full service fishing lodge you are guaranteed a good fishing holiday. Blanda is one of few rivers in Iceland that are good from early June and it can be very good and the salmon there are the biggest in Iceland. Section 3 and 4 are sold separately with self catering lodges.

Laxá á Ásum is hardly necessary to mention but there is no river like “The Asum” (awesome). This small 2 rod river is fished by the same anglers year after year and I dare to say that few if any river has as loyal customers. There is a small self catering lodge by the river but anglers can choose to stay at the Blanda lodge.
Tungufljót is a 6 rod, self catering river with one good cottage to every two rods, so two rods are sold together. Tungufljót has had an amazing season with over 1400 salmon caught and we are expecting no less for next summer. Tungufljót is in about 1 hours drive from Reykjavik.
Svartá river is a 25 km long, 4 rod, self catering river just above Blanda river. Svartá is fly only , great for floating line and riffling hitch. The 5 room lodge is spacious and comfortable. Larger groups often take Svartá with the self catering fishing in Blanda section 4.
Hvannadalsá is a 3 rod self catering river in the West Fjords, it shares the same river mouth with Langadalsá so larger groups can easily take both rivers and rotate the fishing between the two of them. There is a nice self catering lodge by the river. Hvannadalsá is delightful to fish with the fly and the surrounding country side is unique, here you are alone with Iceland.
Langadalsá is a wonderful, 4 rod self catering river in the West Fjords. There is a very good 8 twin room by the river. Langadalsá is a perfect haven of peace and quiet which makes it one of our most sought after rivers. The average size of fish is quite impressive; around 9 lbs, but fish up to 20 lbs are taken each season.
Laugardalsá is a 3 rod, self catering river in the West Fjords. This sensitive river producesbest for anglers who use light tackle and very small flies, and particularly small hitched micro-tube flies.

Brynjudalsá is located in just 40 min drive from Reykjavik. There is no lodge by the river but there is a nice hotel in few minutes drive from the river and many of our anglers choose to stay in Reykjavik. Brynjudalsá is a delicate, 2 rod river.
Hallá is a 2 rod, self catering river located close to Blonduos village, North West Iceland. This is a good option for families/friends who want to have a private river to themselfs. Halla is a good value of money.
