Trout fishing in Iceland has become very popular amongst anglers from all around the world. There are various rivers, lakes and streams to be found all over the Island and many of them offering the best troutfishing there is. The season is from early may to August, ranging from the highlands down to seaside rivers. Here below is the full mounty for the most adventorous trip you can do for brown trout and it´s a great value.

The duration of the trips can be from 3 - 6 - 10 days, it´s all up to you and your fishing mates. You simply contact me here in the office and we discuss what it is you want from your trip, of course everybody want´s many big fish and yes, that´s exactly what we can provide, but in details, I Tailor make your trip for a great success for your long time lasting dreams to come true..

For the trip we provide selfcatering lodge with all modern comfort, 2- 3 anglers can share one lodge and there are shops around to buy grocereys, food and drink, big BBQ out on the balcany so no time wasted cooking to much food..

When you arrive to the airport your requested rental car is ready for take off at the car rental stand of National car rental. The drive from the airport to the lodge is about 2 hours and we provide you with all roadmaps before your arrival. You can stop on the way in Reykjavik, the capital city, for a tackle shop, ore you can simply ask us to put the things you need for the trip on your booking so the tackle will be waiting for you in the rental car..

There is a jacuzzi in the lodges, so nice to relax there after a hard day pumping the iron on the river ore a lake. In the lodge we provide towels, made up beds and cleaning for the lodge after the trip. Many restaurants are around in the area, all in driving distance for about 10-25 min if you get lazy and don´t want to cook your self..

Early season we do a lot of highland fishing in the combination tours. By that time we fish with sunkers, streamers that sink, nobblers and flies that work the bottom very well but when the weather turns good the fish starts to head up to the surface for flies giving us the anglers an nice shot for the magic hour with our dry flies and nymphs..

This picture is dramatic for the highland fishing, you are fishing in the middle of a lake, the fish has all the space in the world to play your fly and a lot of action is played during the fight, they intend to do many tail jumps as well, an unforgettable sight. This picture is from one of my tours last season, a 6 lbs brownie, we got 26 that day for 2 rods..not bad..

This black and green weighted nobbler is quite popular for the spring fishing, but all colours seem to work, you just have to find the one that suits every moment. Look at the spots on this one..

Here is an angler out in the middle of the lake, this weather can be typhical for early parts of the season, BUT... it´s affective for fishing.. You just have a warm coffe in the car and warm up a little bit inbetween battles if you dare to take time away from this fantastic fishing. The fishing hours are from 10 in the morning to 17-19, depends on the weather but sometimes you can fish all night long..

This is a picture from one of the highland roads, not many trees around..! There is a saying in Iceland.."What do you do when you get lost in an Icelandic forrest?..the answer.." you simply stand up..hehe..

This is a good sized char from one of the highland lakes, there can be many like this around, and that´s what´s so great to our trout trips..we move in between different spots every day and therefor we get so good fishing every day, every place, every tour, all through the season..

This is an average sized trout from the highland lakes, fine colours, hard to fight and fun to release..

Here is brown trout palace, they are close to the banks, great fun to fish for upstream but sometimes the small trees can be a pain in the ass when the line gets tangled up in them..hehe..

This is a picture from middle of the season, who wouldn´t want to fight a fish like that on a small 4-5 weight rod, but that´s the magic of trout fishing, the lighter the rods and lines are the bigger the fight gets, and some fun it is.
