The fishing continues to be hot in Ixtapa Zihuatanejo with most boats reporting a daily average of 6 Billfish strikes per day. The blue water has moved within 3 miles of shore making for a very short run to the action. Over the past week the waters has warmed up which has really improved the SAILFISH bite but has put a damper on the recent Marlin activity. There were no Marlin reported this past week. The Dorado bite has also improved with several fish per day per boat being reported. The average size of the Dorado are in the 20 – 30 lb range. Inshore the warm clear waters has made fishing for Roosterfish difficult allbeit several nice Roosterfish were reported for Last week. The inshore action continues to be dominated by Large Yellowtail jacks and Spanish Mackerel. MEGA baits continue to be the hot lure for them while live bait and Red and White Pencil poppers continue to be the best bet for Roosterfish.
Please receive our best wishes for a safe Holiday and the new Best of New Years.
