Forest Birse - Dee
May 11th to 16th - 6 full days.
We have a very good week available on Forest Birse beat on the legendary Dee river in Scotland.
The productive Birse water is on the middle Dee, close to the village Aboyne. Birse has some 4 miles of water, it is a 4 rod beat and is primarily right (southern) bank fishing.
Accommodation can be arranged at various guesthouses, bed and breakfast or local country hotels. We recommend the Ramoir House Hotel or the Banchory Lodge hotel, both in Banchory or the Balfour House near Aboyne. These hotels are first class and offer top services.
The fishing week is full 6 days, from Monday morning until Saturday evening (no fishing on Sundays in Scotland).

Schedule:
Day 1. Sunday. Arrive mid day in Aberdeen from London. (British Airways), where you rent a car for the week. From there you go directly to your hotel where you stay for the full week and includes dinner, bed and breakfast. Lunch is taken river side at the fishing hut.
Day 2. Monday. Fishing starts at 9:00 a.m. the first day. Lunch on the river side, packed lunch from the hotel or you purchase your lunch needs in Banchory. Fishing until 5 p.m. (guides work from 9 -5 in the afternoon) then go to the Hotel for Dinner. Unguided fishing after dinner is your option, and this is frequently the most productive time of the day.
Day 3-7. Tuesday- Saturday. Same schedule.
Day 8. Check out early morning from the hotel, drive to Aberdeen airport, where you will return the vehicle, in time for your flight to London at 09:00.
The use of the rent a car is very useful as it gives you so much freedom to do what ever you like at any time, fishing after dinner, shopping, touring around, early morning fishing etc.
We have been fishing the Forest Birse on Dee now for 10 years, and offer only prime time, from late March until late May, during the height of the spring run. For most parts, this is small fly, floating line fishing for all two-sea-winter fish averaging around 12 pounds with fish up to 30 pounds always a possibility. Availability is limited so please call early to reserve for next season.
