FLY FISHING REPORT – November 08
The season began with extraordinary environmental conditions; the river is high
and the water is clear and clean. Furthermore, the days are sunny and it’s hot,
and it is not windy at all.
All these conditions made the dry fly fishing quite effective. We could appreciate
hatching of may flies every day, which make trout come up everywhere.
During the last days of November we observed some hatching of little caddis
though trout haven’t reacted to them yet.
We enjoyed the fishing by using sinking and floating lines every day, since we
watched in each corner a trout waiting for an insect or emergent to eat it. This
allowed us to enjoy really exciting and entertaining fishing days.
Definitely the catch was successful in November.
We were able to catch a good number of pretty, healthy and very voracious
browns by using sinking lines. We also caught browns with dry flies, as they are
active in some spots of the river.
As expected during this time of the year, rainbow trout were recovering from the
spawning wear, males specially. However they were jumping and fighting, so we
were able to fish lots of vigorous, restless and big specimens.
We predict December will be another excellent fishing month because of its
environmental conditions and the important activity we have observed on trout.
Rainbows will be stronger and more active, and the browns will continue
portraying their aggressiveness and vigorous catch. We will fish with dry,
nymphs and streamers.
We expect to catch an important number of specimens.
Furthermore, December has always been a month full of surprises, in which we
have caught the biggest browns!
We’re looking forward to seeing you soon!
