Lysa Lakes are located on the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, one of the amazing places in Iceland, by the roots of the Snaefellsjokull glacier.

The distance from Reykjavik is only 180 km and the area contains 4 lakes and rivers between them.

This is one of few areas where you can find all fresh water fish there is in Iceland; salmon, sea trout, local trout and char.
Lysa lakes is the perfect family spot due to the inexpensive fishing, the perfect surroundings and the many additional activities there are in the area, i.e. sightseeing and snowmobiling on the glacier, bird watching, whale watching, kayaking, beach walking etc.

The best time for fishing on the Lysa Lakes is August.
