Acha camp - week report - week 25. 17 June 24 June
A solid and well-built High pressure was hanging over the Northern Scandinavian Peninsula with day temperatures well above 25C° - beside these not very cheerful facts, the Sun was unmerciful “ON” for twenty four hours – anywhere else in the world these condition would make an Salmon anglers life really miserable and poor – but as always not in Ponoi I’m tempted to say!
In spite of this knotty condition the fishing continued like in the previous two weeks – Big crowds of Salmon entered our beats daily – Best fishing periods was of course early morning or late evening, when the sun was dancing just above the Tree line in the horizon.
I believe that I can conclude that all members in Strutt&Parkers third week in Acha camp had a brilliant week with a lot of action and good fun.
David Parkins who fished Ponoi for the first time nailed 64 Salmon with several fish between 15 and 19 lbs. closely followed by Pat Glennon from Ireland and old timer Richard Monroe Ferguson UK.
Biggest Salmon this week was a 22 lbs Cock fish caught of veteran Paddy Feakins – positively we have seen a very good numbers of big Salmon in this season, with many fish between 15 and 19 lbs. - And frankly speak Gentlemen – These middle size “Silver rockets” are the most fun and energetic Salmon you can hook if you ask me – these “slimy” ballistic missiles almost take you far into the backing and make the most acrobatic jumps – and isn’t that what we all are looking for –lot of action and bend in the rod!
Conclusion: Again for the third week in a row, Acha camp average 42 Salmon between10 rods – an astonishing good result that obviously indicate that Ponoi never will let you down.
