Acha camp report 17 June to 24 june
Week report from Acha camp week 24 – 17 June – 24 June
From a bitterly cold Northern winds where the thermometer got close to zero during the daytime, to tropics heat that made the Mosquito dancing – that was the agenda for week 24. - But not anything could stop Ponoi´s incredible spring run. This became a perfect week where all experienced the magic moment when salmon take the fly in a powerful turn and both lines and lungs are stretched.
The mixed group of “hard-core” Ponoi veterans as well as new comers found Ponoi in perfect shape.
All our Five Beats at Acha camp produced World class fishing during the whole week – however - Top beat was Home pool with 170 salmon during the week, flanked by some Twenty pounds fish plus a number of smaller fish between 15 and 19 lbs.
Our gorgeous Acha river gave a lot of good action and fun to all who fished the lower section just upstream Acha camp – especially “Steffen’s Run” fished unbelievable well – in the strong current even the smaller Salmon took you far into the backing line – Great sport!
Our “off roader” (Acha river floating program) lead by Tapio Sorsa gave 170 Salmon between Six rods, with 10 salmon between 17 and 20 lbs. – a new catch record for this very popular “Hard core Salmon angler program”.
