Opened up in March 2000, PIRA Lodge is the world’s first deluxe lodge to target the freshwater DORADO. This newly discovered game fish is really making waves in the international sport fishing community. Thanks to dashing looks and incredible fighting and jumping characteristics, the “tiger of the river”, as it is known in Argentina, has gone from an unknown South American myth to one of the world’s hottest game fish almost overnight.

We offer 15% discount to our anglers who add some days at Pira to their trip with us to Rio Grande, Tierra del Fuego.

The fishing here at Pira lodge is done on the Iberá Marshland, one of the most unique and fascinating wetlands in the world. Over 3 million acres of unexplored and uninhabited marshland in the northeastern corner of Argentina are the setting for some for the most exciting fishing you will ever do. The marsh is a waste fishing of crystal clear creeks, flowing rivers, shallows, and lakes – imagine an area over twice the size of the Florida Everglades. You will spend your days here in state-of-the-art Hell’s Bay flats skiffs exploring this enormous expanse with enthusiastic guides. Dorado are exceptionally plentiful here due to the astonishing clarity of the water, the fishing is unparalleled in excitement and beauty. Floating lines and traditional saltwater streamers as well as many of the lodges own deadly patterns are used to make tasty presentations to waking fish.

The incomparable variety of wildlife found in the enormous marsh allows you to combine fishing with a number of other activities. Kayaking, horseback riding and bird watching are few of the other ways to spend warm summer days. Or if you are looking for a more relaxed activities, grab a book and curl up on one of the hammocks or bench swings that line the shaded galleries, take a refreshing dip in the lodges´20 meter swimming pool, or stroll through the virgin wilderness at your own pace.

Copy_of_DSC00284For those with a discerning palate, you are in for a real surprise. Despite the isolated location, the chef at Pira Lodge focuses on typical Argentine dishes but with his creative personal flair and impeccable presentation, and he will leave you dazzled. Each meal is a three-course journey through Argentina´s different culinary influences from its famed beef, and local lamb, to homemade pastas, and divine desserts. Wonderful Argentine wines accompany each meal, and we take pride in selecting the very best from the very best: Big cabernets, smooth Merlots, and flavourful Malbecs along with Blancs.

26.4.2010 : Wow, Loop has done it again!

This Evotec rod is sure to become a hit and an all time favourite! I must admit that I haven't had a better #6 rod in my hands - ever. And I've tried so many. This rod is just great at both close range and at 90 ft+. And it performs so beautifully with snake rolls and underhand casts aswell. The Opti Stillwater line is a perfect match for the 696. I fished the Brevyeni Camp in June of 2008 and can tell you straight up,it was the best fishing I have ever experienced in 25 years of chasiong the king of fish around the world. I will be back at Brevyeni once again in just a few more weeks and I am as excited about returning as I was on my first ever trip to this high tundra wilderness wonderland. You can literally fish around the clock under the midnight sun but I'm sure you will find the fishing so damn good there will be no need to bust your butt building numbers. Everyone catches lots of salmon and some big brutes in the mix to boot. The lodging is unexcelled for wilderness accomodation, the guides speak good English and are both personalble and knowledgeable. The food is great, the vodka chilled and the ambiance spellbinding.
