1.885 salmon to 6 rods in 2005
The whole 6 rods are available for 4 days, July 20th to 24th on the Laxa in Dölum.
This delicate river in the central west ranks among the best in the country with an average catch of more than two salmon per rod per day. The season of 2004 yeilded a massive 1537 salmon on the six daily rods. While 2005 gave the total of 1.885 salmon! It is fair to say that Laxá in Dölum gave the most salmon on each rod, of all Icelandic rivers or 2,9 salmon per day.

Laxá í Dölum offers 26 km of productive water. The lower beats flow smoothly through a wide isolated valley and are perfect for floating lines and the riffling hitch. The upper river, however, has some narrower beats demanding a greater variety of techniques. The river offers a nice mix of one and two winter salmon throughout the season, making it very popular river with both local and visiting anglers. In fact few rivers in the west- and southwest of Iceland have a better ratio of mws salmon and most years fish exceeding 20 pounds are caught.

Anglers are accommodated with a comfortable lodge featuring six double rooms, each with a private bath, a comfortable dining and sitting area, sauna and the customary, remarkable, three course gourmet meal.
