How to find the right fishing?
Iceland has endless option of rivers to offer and it can be hard to choose the river that fits the best.
Our anglers usually fish 6 days, starting with an afernoon fishing the first day and ending at noon the last day.
We often recommend anglers who are fishing Iceland for the first time to fish 3 days in one river and 3 days in another. A good combination would be:
West Ranga and Midfjardara or
Blanda and Langadalsį
You fish West Ranga and Blanda with a double handed rods, they are wide and full of salmon. Midfjardara and Langadalsį rivers are smaller and fished with a single handed rod, they are sensitive and the fly fishers delight.
With a combination of two rivers so different in caracter you see a lot of what Iceland has to offer.
If you are thinking of visiting us for salmon fishing next summer, please send me a line with information on how many rods would be fishing and if you have some dates fixed and I will send you some options of good fishing.
Often there are non-fishing guest travelling with the anglers which we plan a whole different schedule for.
I look forward hearing from you
Harpa
