Iceland-Report 2005, River Skoga
Dear All
Coming back from Iceland we have a lot of impressions, which we like to communicate to you as we did in previous years. Hereafter our report for the Iceland-Season 2005:
In General:
It was one of our best fishing weeks, since we are fishing in Iceland !
River:
Skoga was a fantastic river. We liked the rocky water and the landscape with the famous waterfall very much. The only limitation is the fact, that the river gets stained in the afternoon; after a strong rainfall the river gets unfishable. In our fishing week we had 3 half-days, which were blocked by dirty water. Anyway we had a very good catch-result in this week. Our group caught 15 salmon and 10 charrs.
Lodge:
The Lodge was in a very good shape. Our cook enjoyed specially the well equipped kitchen. We liked the furniture in the old english lodge-style. There were 4 bedrooms and plenty of place for each fisherman.
Guide:
Helgi was very helpful and we appreciated very much his professionality as a guide. He knows the river very well and assists his fishing guests in a perfect way. Give him our very best regards.
Organisation:
The taxi-service of Walti and his brother was perfect as usual.
Thanks to Harpa and the whole office-team for the good organisation.
We wish you a good time and hope of course to see you next year in Iceland again !
Tight Lines and screamin’ reels !
With best regards from Switzerland
Franz Gysi, Rudolf Witzig, Reinhard Gysi

PS: The “Home Pool” was the only spot, where the catch result was disappointing.
