FRED JUST RETURNED FROM BEAUTIFUL BELLA VISTA CAMP ON RIO GALLEGOS
The lodge itself is of un-paralleled luxury and comfort and it is a package that to me is without match. The beginning of the week was very hard fishing for all as quite muddy and very high water from a big melt in the Andes. A few of my friends elected to spend one of these days on the Rio Chico and had a blast catching resident Browns up to 4 pounds on dry flies. Two days later the water dropped, the color cleared and we all were into some big bruisers on the main river. I love the fishing on this more technical river and both the Snaelda and a sparsely tied Sunray Shadow slowly stripped just at dark was just the ticket. More details to come in a follow report from my friends during the week from Australia, UK, USA and Russia. I also have many more great photos soon from this amazing spot. I would personally choose the Gallegos over the Rio Grande any time and have always found it just as good, if not better, than the Rio Grande. A number of select rods still open for Bella Vista which remains fishing until first week of April.
