Kau Tapen Fishing Report - Jan 30 - Feb 5
67 fish, all silver and fresh, were landed this week in Kau-Tapen, with an average weight of 9.5 pounds. We had 10 fish over 15 pounds, and 3 over 20 pounds.
After the rains stopped the river started to get in a better shape. More clarity, better temperature and level, resulting in a better drift on many of the pools, and also allowing us to wade across. Menendez river also produced a very good amount of fresh and big fish. The largest fish of the week was a 22 pounder. Conditions were tough, but the Kau-Tapen anglers managed to achieve some excellent results.

Air Temp.. Temperatures spanned from 3ŗc to 14ŗc
River Condition.. Water Level was Dropping through the whole week
Clarity.. The Rio Grande and Menendez clarity increased consistently through the week

Tackle / Techniques / Rods / Lines.. Fast sinking tips and fast full sinking lines on most of the pools were the right choice
