Fishing and Hunting in Greenland with team Lax-á

Greenland is a char fishing and hunting paradise. Our programs have now become quite popular and they are fast becoming a firm favourite amongst our clients. Our reindeer hunters have been returning full of praise for what they have experienced there, and so too are the growing number of anglers. This is 'frontier fishing' at its most exciting..

We have a vast hunting concession in the south of Greenland, whitch also offers endless fishing opportunities on hundreds of rivers and lakes. Some times even in the river mouths when the char attacks the rivers. Those lakes connected to the ocean by clear rivers provide the best fishing, but the fjords are also extremely productive in the early part of the season. Char start to gather in the fjords near the river mouths in early July and begin to move into the rivers by mid-month..

By August the rivers and lakes are full of fish. August is also a more comfortable time to fish as the mosquitoes are beginning to die off. Greenland char run between 1 lbs. and 7lbs., but we've caught a few weighing close to 10 lbs. They are free takers of both streamers and nymphs. Bright flies with orange or magenta in the dressing are most effective..

Accommodation is on full-board basis either at the hunting camp in Isortoq or at the Hotel in the village Narsaq and the Hotel in Village Qaqartoq. There are huts in the farthest areas of our territory that can be used for overnight stays. A camping package is also available, but this is only advisable for a group of four or more..

Be advised, our char fishing trips to Greenland are "rugged", requiring lots of walking and travelling in boats. The service and facilities are best described as rustic, and certainly not comparable to what we offer in Iceland. These trips are ONLY for the most adventurous anglers who'd like to experience great fishing and the best of nature in this magical and mysterious last frontier..

Our Muscox hunting program has become a thing to do for many hunters from all over the world, this amazing creature lives quite far away from all modernasation and is one to remember. can you imagine a thing like that on the wall..Uff..

11.3.2010 : 20 to 30 pounders on the way and fishing in Norway is starting soon !!!

Hard winter in Norway with lot´s of snow , that will only secure great spring fishing through June until first week in July .. so good news for us salmon fishermans. Here below is the latest openings we have on our Norwegian rivers.

8.3.2010 : Fishing in Cuba - Casa Batida Santa Maria

This is high-octane! Precise fast casting is the medicine. Fish from 10 to 80 lbs are present all year long and very big migrating tarpons up to 160 lbs start to show up in great numbers from March onwards. Classic sight flats flyfishing combined with chances in mangroves and channels when weather or tide is wrong for flats. Always a chance.
