Ten Rivers and Ten Lakes - San Martin des Los Andes
When arriving to San Martin de los Andes in the region of North Patagonia it is just like you have reach another world inside of Argentina. There are magnificient mountains surrounding the area, covered with trees from the bottom to the top. There are trees, forrests, green fields and blooming flowers everywhere and last but not the least endless opportunities to fish for brown trout on cristal clear rivers and lakes in the area. The highest mountain and volcano called Lanin 3773 m high sets the final touch in the landscape of high and beautiful mountain view to all sides.
We find a wide range of trout species in this Patagonian region: Rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss), Brown Trout (Salmo trutta), Brook Trout (Salvelinus fontinalis), and Landlocked Salmon (Salmo Salar Sebago), which were introduced at the beginning of the century and are found in a unique wild state nowadays. They all stand out for their beauty and fierceness

The biggest town in the Lanin National Park is is San Martin de los Andes, a very nice and friendly town located by the end of a very big and beautiful lake called Lacar. There are 35000 inhabitants living in the town and its surroundings. The houses of San Martin de los Andes are beautiful, wooden houses, built in a cosy style and there are roses in all the colours you can imagine everywhere, in private and public gardens and even along the pavements.
In the hills above the town – inside the Lanin National Park you will find the Arrayán lodge of Ten Rivers & Ten Lakes. The sleeping lodge is brand new and can host 8 guests in 4 dbl.rooms all with private bathroom. At the end of the lodge, which fits very weel into the landscape is a “tower” with a fireplace, bar and a panoramic view over the lake Lacar.
Just opposite the new lodge is the restaurant Arrayán where anglers/guests dine. The Arrayán is an old house, build in the beginning of the century by a German, but has now been renewed but still honoring the orginal architecture of the house. Inside is a very nice fireplace and a very nice collection of wine decorates one of the walls of the house.
Ten Rivers & Ten Lakes lodges have the ambition of offering only the best quality in food and wine. For guests who have interest in having a special introduction of the Argentinian wines that can easily be arranged by the owners.
