End of season report 2005
After having spent our first season at the “Rio Manso Lodge”, I am ready to look back and enjoy our great new experience!
Over a hundred and fifty guests stayed at the lodge experiencing the magical environment that this place is famous for, the rivers, lakes and mountains, all colorful and pristine offers immense opportunities of enjoyment for all those who get involved with it.
This season we had lots of very great and hardcore anglers, they fished, fished and fished, but we also had, lots of non anglers and a majority of them came along with the fishermen as non fishing guests, Spouses, sons & daughters, relatives, friends, etc. They hiked, rode horses, went thru intense trekking experiences, biked and watched birds with “Lorenzo”. All this gave our lodge an enjoyable “homey feeling”, generating a very enjoyable and friendly atmosphere. Fantastic “asados” (barbeques) and also refined dishes for dinner that “Pablo” (our chef) greeted our guests with.
We have searched and done researched on and about every corner around us looking for fish and wildlife, floating from Mascardi Lake down to Moscos Lake, from there down to the Hess Lake, from Hess thru the channels and down to our beat five and even past it reaching lake Steffen, summing up, all the mid section of the river, without leaving behind all the lakes around us, some small and unknown brook trout lagoons that are rarely fished due to the remoteness of their location. All this and more? Our guides were fascinated about the numbers of fish landed and sizes that were measured or weighed?
Now we can say that we have a lot more to offer than when we started in November, we have added new waters to our beat rotation, new trails for our walks and new horses to our pack.
Having been invited by nature to share her most intimate corners struck directly our emotions feeling and becoming part and actors of such an embracing environment made our operation grow from what once started as a project and now, a REALITY!
We have collected from our guest’s the feedback on their experience with us, all this and our own motivation will help us improve and grow towards our ultimate goal of excelling in what we do.
