TACKLES
Clothes and Fishing Elements
We suggest our anglers to bring light rods, four or five with floating lines for dry fly and nymph fishing, and some a bit heavier, six or seven, with floating lines and quick and intermediate sinking lines.
The fly box includes: streamers in 4-6-8 sizes: zonkers, wooly buggers, matukas and marabou muddlers. Colors: white, brown, black, green, olive green, red and yellow.
The most effective nymphs are prince, pheasant tail, hareíear, beadle and dragonfly nymphs and stimulators size 10 and 16. You should not forget to bring caddis larva imitations.
The dry fly selection includes adult caddis, addams, humphyrs, wullfs in sizes similar to nymphs’ and also a hoppers, beetles and ants selection.
In Patagonia Adentro Lodge you will find a fly-shop with an assortment of all these elements.
We suggest bringing light clothes to use under the wader, light polar clothes, hat and sun screen lotion. During the night it always get a little bit colder. Waders must be high and you must bring wading boots, polarized glasses and a Goro-tex rain jacket or the like.
Lax-á line - fly fishing rods designed in Iceland
Lax-á is now starting a new line of rods that suit most of our fishing destinations. The rods reflect a good craftsmanship and high quality.
The rods have been tested on the icelandic rivers by experienced anglers, who give them their best recommendation. For Argentinean trout rivers we have two sizes of single hand rods. These first rods come in limited numbers so they will be a collecters item:
Lax-á 9´0" line 5/6 in 5 sections
Lax-á 9'6" line 7/8 in 5 sections
We also have double handed rods of size 14" and 12,6" in the Lax-á line.
For furhter information about the Lax-á rods - please see Lax-á Boutique or contact Ásta Ólafsdóttir at Lax-á office direct.
